We were unable to find categorically recent studies on eating porgy fish during pregnancy. But, the studies conducted in the 1970’s suggested that, porgy has high levels of toxins and should be avoided during pregnancy.
However, Health Canada lists porgy fish as safe for pregnant women to eat in servings amounting to 2.5 Oz, four times a week. Hence, it is recommended to consult a doctor to decide whether you should or should not have porgy during pregnancy.
