Absolutely! Sweet potatoes are an abundantly growing plant in Philipines and other tropical countries in South East Asia. Their leaves are also eaten as a popular food in salads, soups, stew and stir-fry and locally known as Talbos ng kamote.

According to a study of the Louisiana State Agricultural Center, sweet potato leaves are a rich source of ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) and Vitamin B. In addition it also provides other vital nutrients like Vitamin A, Vitamin K, B-Carotene, B6, Thiamine, Niacin, Zinc, Riboflavin, Iron, Folic Acid, Calcium, and Protein.

In comparison to other leafy greens, it possesses more dietary fiber and nutrients.

Consumption of sweet potato leaves helps in controlling blood pressure and diabetes. It also promotes healthy bone, hair and brain development.

Ensure the leaves are cleaned thoroughly or cooked before eating.
